The Second team opened their 2012 season with a good win over Bristol Asains at Chew Court. Battinf first on a soft green wicket, Chew got off to good start with Simon White and Rich Baughon adding 26 after the early loss of Rich Gatton (6).
Pat Jones and Sam Locke added useful runs lower down the order, but the tail folded and Chew ended on 162 all out. Disappointing, but a reasonable score on a testing wicket.
The Asians replay got off to a terrible start as the accurate Iain Locke and opening partner Joe Williams reduced the visitors to 33 for 6. Locke taking 4 for 10 off 8.
Despite a late rally the game was won as Captain Andy Witcombe and a returning Iain Locke mopped up the tail 27 runs short of their target.
