Match Report

Sun XI v Street (A)

Sunday, 25th June 2006
Woodspring Sunday League

We went to street on an overcast and drizzly day and captain Jeremy won the toss and fielded Sam kirk opened the bowling with BJ we got of to a good start and had Street 42 -3 with Sam ending up with figures of 8 overs with 3 wickets we had a lot of dropped chances in the first 15 overs which didn't help BJ as he finished wicket-less from his five overs.

Then came on the brilliant off spin of captain Jeremy with back up from Jamie Dawson both bowled really well and ending up with good figures Jamie finishing with 8 overs for 41 runs and 3 wickets and the captain bowling like Muralitharan finishing with 8 overs 3 maidens 12 runs 1 wicket reduced street to 112 - 7 then good batting from the street lower order got them to 175 - 9 then on came Oggy to bowl and with his first ball got a wicket and street finished up 177 all out.

After a great tea and watching some rubbish England football we went out to bat with bones and Dan Gatton up first bones got a shooter and was out for 3 enter Sam Scraggs him and Dan put on over 100 for the second wicket with Sam ending on 25 top effort that and Dan with 64 so we were 112 for 3 then a mini collapse with Sam Kirk and tom hardings coming and going and ending up with Oggy and captain Jeremy to see us home in the last over.

Another good win and good performances from the youth team boys with runs and wickets and good fielding we gained 26 pts and street 11 pts so a win by five wickets. so Sunday league looking good. Quote of the day from tom hardings "that shot was majestic" next Sunday league game on 16th July vs high flying Bath.
