Chew Magna lost this tough Bristol and District 2nd round cup match at Frenchay by just 10 runs. Chasing just 119 to win they lost early wickets and never really recovered in time, and despite Ken Mondairs late flurry ended up just short.
Earlier the Frenchay openers had put on 80 for the first wicket with good looking shots all round the wicket, though none of the Chew bowlers really got much stick.
So a tidy performance with the ball and in the field was let down slightly with the bat. Having said that the Frenchay bowlers did a good job restricting the runs and their field placings were also very good. Defeat to a Prem 2 side is no disgrace, but Chew go out when they felt they had a very good chance of causing an upset.
