Nickname: S
Playing Style: Right Hand Bat, Right Arm Trundler, Dynamic Fielder, Good Arm
Club Debut: 1983
S, a legend at the club until his tragic and untimely death in 2000. Brother of Paul, Simon possessed great natural talent and was good at any sport you care to mention.
Came to prominence in the early eighties and showed both with bat and in the field what a supurb talent he was.
Scored runs for fun and took catches like shelling peas. Check out the scorecard in the clubhouse V Wellington. Without doubt the best innings seen on the Chew Court ground for many a year.
Unbelievable sense of humour and just great fun to be with. Conventional life just did not suit S, and he never got the chance to show his cricketing skills at a higher level. Loved the Club and the Valley. We love him still. S.
